UPDATE: RCMP investigate suspicious death at Glenview Gardens

KELOWNA – Police are saying very little about why officers spent much of the day Tuesday looking in and around a unit in Glenview Gardens, but they have now confirmed there was a suspicious death of a 31-year-old woman.

Police were called to the 1300-block of Glenview Avenue around 3:45 p.m., March 31.

Officers were seen at the townhouse complex just off Clement Avenue and Clifton Road throughout the afternoon and two police cars remained at the scene in the evening. An RCMP release Tuesday evening said police and the B.C. Coroners Service were investigating and couldn't release any information, though a release Wednesday morning noted the age of the deceased female.

"No details concerning the deceased, or any potential cause of death, will be released pending next of kin notification and further investigation" said Staff Sgt. Blake MacLeod Tuesday.

A uniformed patrol officer guarded the entrance of unit 20 Tuesday. He refused to comment on what was happening and asked that no pictures be taken that would reveal the interior of the unit. Neighbours of the unit did not respond to knocks on their doors.

Police note no one has been taken into custody.

According to a release issued Thursday afternoon, April 2, an autopsy has been completed however further tests have been ordered. Police are also actively following up on a few tips and ensure there is no danger to the public.
