
Man walking in middle of road hit by car in Kelowna
A man wearing dark clothing was walking in the middle of Rutland Road in Kelowna and was struck by a car.
It happened shortly after 7 p.m. yesterday, Oct. 27, near Old Vernon Road, according to an RCMP press release.
An officer, who was responding to a report of vehicles swerving around a man, arrived to find someone had been struck by a vehicle.
Several members of the public including the driver were giving the man medical attention.

The Emergency Health Services team was called by the officer. When they arrived the man was unresponsive and appeared to have sustained serious injury. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition, the report says.
It was very difficult for motorists to see the man because he was wearing dark clothing, the report reads.
The driver who struck the man was “visibly shaken,” according to the RCMP, and was referred to Kelowna Victim Services.
