West Bench water main flushing

One of the final steps towards the removal of the long standing Boil Water Notice for West Bench water system customers will begin next week.

RDOS Public Works crews will begin a systematic watermain flushing program on Monday, April 28, 2014 for the entire West Bench water system service area. The flushing program will run throughout the week.

When crews are working in your area, water main flushing may result in the water showing sediment and discoloration. If you experience dirty water, simply run your cold water taps only and garden hoses until the water runs clear to ensure you maintain good Water Quality. Don't run your hot water as this may bring dirty water into your hot water tanks.

Residents with water treatment systems or filters should take necessary precautions with their systems throughout this week (Disconnect if needed).

We thank you for your cooperation and apologize for any inconvenience you may experience.

For more information please contact the RDOS Public Works department at 250-490-4135 or 250-490-4106 Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
