Trial for accused in death of teen to begin this fall
KAMLOOPS – A man charged with murdering his 16-year-old girlfriend will continue the beginning stages of his trial this fall.
Damien Lawrence Taylor, born 1991, is facing second degree murder charges in the death of C.J. Fowler.
RCMP told media Fowler and Taylor were dating. Fowler was from Terrace and would regularly visit Kamloops to see Taylor.
Fowler’s body was found near Guerin Creek in Kamloops in December 2012. She was 16-years-old when she died.
After a year-long investigation by RCMP, Taylor was arrested in connection with Fowler’s death. Police say Taylor travelled with Fowler to Kamloops from Terrace before she died.

Taylor is known to police and has a criminal record with convictions including robbery and possession of a controlled substance.
The next court discussion for this case will be a focus hearing on July 28. Taylor is set to appear for a preliminary inquiry on September 22.
