Missing snowboarder rescued at Big White

KELOWNA – Volunteers from two Search and Rescue organizations in the Okanagan sprang into action when a snowboarder at Big White Ski Resort was reported missing last night, Nov. 28.

The big worry was the lost snowboarder wasn’t dressed to survive with the below freezing temperatures on the mountain overnight.

Penticton Search and Rescue members joined Central Okanagan Search and Rescue teams to hunt for the missing person.

Mike Porter with Penticton Search and Rescue says “after an extensive search of the area” the snowboarder was found in “good condition.”

The missing person’s name and hometown have not been released.
