West Kelowna motorcycle shop could be shut down for selling stolen vehicles

It may soon be the end of the road for Cycle Logic, a motorcycle service and repair business in West Kelowna. District councillors will decide tomorrow whether they will cancel the business licence for the shop, which was raided by police last August. RCMP seized a number of stolen vehicles from the shop in 2012 and charged its owner, John Edward Newcome, with multiple counts of theft and trafficking in stolen property.
Police found Cycle Logic was part of a vehicle cloning ring linked to the Southland chapter of Hells Angels.
West Kelowna's city council has the permission to revoke the shop's business license under the Community Charter. Following the Charter requirements, council has given Newcome notice of the proposed license revocation, and are allowing him to speak before council at tomorrow's meeting.
If revoked, the business would be required to terminate its operations immediately.
