PENTICTON – The Penticton Triathlon Race Society is about to get a big boost from the province.
The announcement the society will receive $125,000 to put toward the Challenge Penticton triathlon race was made by Premier Christy Clark today during the Penticton Chamber of Commerce luncheon. The event was held at the Penticton Lakeside Resort Ballroom from noon to 1:30 p.m. July 30. Money will come from the Province's communty gaming grant program and awarded under the sport category.
Grants are awarded to non-profit organizations applying for provincial gaming revenues from the Ministry of Community and Cultural Development and can also be awarded in categories of Public Safety, Environment and Human and Social Services.
Challenge Penticton is scheduled to run August 24, 2014.
