Body of missing Kelowna woman found in Columbia River

TRAIL, B.C. – No foul play is suspected after the body of a missing Kelowna woman was found in the Columbia River in Washington State.

Neva Evdokimoff, 48, was reported missing by her family on Wednesday, May 25, a day after she left the home of a family member in Shore Acres in the Kootenays.

Evdokimoff left to drive her home in Kelowna but never arrived. RCMP used cell phone information to track her to Trail where her car was found in the parking lot at Gyro Park.

Police said video surveillance showed Evdokimoff had parked her car was seen walking from the parking lot toward a beach area on the Columbia River.

On June 9, her body has recovered from the Columbia River in Washington State by members of the Stevens Country Sheriff Department, according to a RCMP media release.

There is no indication of foul play and the RCMP are now assisting the B.C. Coroners Service with its investigation into Evdokimoff’s death.
