'NOT A RANDOM ATTACK'
KELOWNA – Mounties say a composite sketch released early on in a now three-year-old murder investigation is no longer valid.
When Kelowna RCMP updated the investigation into the murder of Theresa Neville in June, some media outlets re-circulated an old composite sketch. A release today says that sketch is old news.
"Investigators have determined, after extensive investigation, that there is no evidence to support that a person fitting this description was in the area on the night of the murder," spokesperson Const. Jesse O'Donaghey said in a release today, July 15.
"The police investigation has steadily progressed over the last three years and police are now confident that this was not a random attack," O'Donaghey said.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cst. Joanne Meyers of the Kelowna RCMP Serious Crime Unit (SCU) at 250-470-6326. Remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net or by texting your tip to CRIMES (274637) ktown.
