Severe thunderstorm watch issued for Okanagan

KELOWNA – Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the whole Okanagan Valley.

Severe thunderstorm with large hail and damaging winds are a possibility this afternoon and into the evening.

According to forecasters, the main threats from the severe storms will be heavy downpours and strong winds.

A watch means there is a possibility severe weather will develop. It doesn’t mean it’s a certainty.

The severe thunderstorm watch cover the South Okanagan, including Penticton, the Central Okanagan, including Kelowna, and the North Okanagan including Vernon.
