If you’re not into mountain biking yet, this video might help

KELOWNA – A pair of amateur local filmmakers have released a stunning video of local trails that is sure to attract some new riders with the gorgeous and spectacular scenery. 

The four-minute film made by Kelowna's Seger Nelson and Sam Singleton features Matt Monod, a competitive mountain bike racer from Canmore, as he tears through the Gillard trails in South Kelowna near Chute Lake Road. This was Monod’s first time riding Gillard.

“Most of the shots were only my second attempts on the trail,” he says. “We were in a hurry to shoot so I wish I could have gotten some more laps in and checked out more of it. It was awesome.”

With an abundance of steep drops, wooden ramps and narrow paths, Gillard Trails are a popular destination for Okanagan cyclists.

The video took Nelson and Singleton approximately seven hours to shoot and Nelson ten hours to edit.

“Film is just a hobby for me,” Nelson says. “I spent quite a bit of time editing but it goes by quick. I love it and this is definitely my best work so far.”
