Nick Robertson had a goal and an assist, Alex Galchenyuk picked up a helper in his first game with the Marlies, and Toronto held on to beat the Manitoba Moose 4-2 on Monday in American Hockey League play.
Teemu Kivihalme added a pair of goals including and empty netter and Adam Brooks also scored for the Marlies (5-4-0), AHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Galchenyuk, who was acquired by Toronto from the Carolina Hurricanes organization Feb. 15, was making his Marlies debut.
Jeff Malott and Joona Luoto scored for the Moose (4-5-0), who are on a three-game slide.
Toronto’s Andrew D’Agostino made 19 saves for the win, while Mikhail Berdin stopped 19-of-22 shots for the Winnipeg Jets’ AHL club.
Earlier in the day the Marlies named forward Richard Clune the ninth captain in the organization’s history.
