RCMP are investigating after a suspicious house fire in Kamloops yesterday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the home at 655 Carson Cres. yesterday, May 6, according to an RCMP media release.
Initial reports indicated that there were no individuals in the building and there were no injuries, Kamloops Fire Rescue Platoon Capt. Mike Haimes said.
Damage to the building was significant, but within an hour some crews were able to return to their quarters, he said.
"It's safe to say it's suspicious in nature, based on the fact that there was no power to the building," Haimes said.
Fire investigators are working with the Kamloops RCMP to determine the cause of the fire.
