What’s happening this weekend in the Okanagan, Kamloops

There seems to be an endless sea of Halloween events every weekend in the Thompson-Okanagan region, so we’ve narrowed down the list to only the spookiest events for you and the family this weekend.

KELOWNA

  • Nightmare at Hillcrest – Stop by the Hillcrest Bed & Breakfast on Oct. 24, 25, or 26 for Kelowna’s biggest haunted house. It runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and tickets are $15 each for adults.
  • Spooktacular – Get dressed up and head to Mission Creek Regional Park on Oct. 25 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and enjoy the trails while they’re lit up by Halloween pumpkins. This is a free event that also welcomes donations to the Central Okanagan Food Bank.
  • Halloween Howl – On Oct. 25 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at SpearHead Winery, Paws It Forward is hosting a Howl-oween party where you can meet adoptable dogs ready for their forever homes.
  • Family Halloween Monster Bash – This annual event returns on Oct. 26 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at MNP Place. This event is free for the whole family but a donation for the Central Okanagan Food Bank is encouraged.
  • Halloweenie – Grizzli Winery is hosting a family friendly, indoor Halloween party from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Expect to dress up, bring your pets, and enjoy crafts, trick-or-treating, and more. Tickets are $8.

VERNON

  • Okanagan Autumn Blast-Ringette Tournament – Come watch an intense Ringette Tournament at Kal Tire Place and the Priest Valley Arena on Oct. 24 from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Art After Dark – The Vernon Public Art Gallery is turning into a speakeasy for this after-hours event on Oct. 24 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. This is a 19+ event and tickets are $25 each.
  • Ghost Tours of Vernon | Late Nite Downtown Tour – On both Oct. 24 and 25, get a haunted tour of Vernon from 10 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Meet at Justice Park to begin your tour. Tickets are $20 each.
  • Witches & Warlocks Paddle – Grab your paddleboard and your best witchy costume before heading to Kal Beach on Oct. 25 at 12 p.m. to gather in one unforgettable experience on the water. This is a free event.
  • The Walk of Terror Spectacular – Get your steps in and be thrilled by fire spinning, fantastic Halloween costumes, and more at the Caravan Farm Theatre’s annual Walk of Terror. This year, the event is on Oct. 25 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $52 for adults.

PENTICTON

  • Great Pumpkin Loop – Vote on your favourite pumpkins and taste stunning wines all weekend long. Participating Wineries include JoieFarm Winery, Elephant Island Winery, Deep Roots Winery, VanWesten Vineyards. The event takes place all day long and pricing is subject to the wines you select for tasting.
  • Monster Mask Workshop – The Leir House Cultural Centre is hosting a monster mask making workshop on Oct. 24 and 25 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $30 for youth and $40 for adults.
  • Pumpkin Carving Contest – Pumpkins and carving tools are provided at this contest at Highway 97 Brewing on Oct. 25 and 26 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. This event is free.
  • Spellbound Soirée – On Oct. 26, join the Halloween Trolley for a spellbinding evening from 2:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Guests should dress to impress and be in costume to win a grand prize. Pick up and return will be at the Lakeside Hotel. Tickets are $130 each.
  • The Speedway Spooktacular – Stop by the Penticton Speedway on Oct. 26 at 4:30 p.m. for an evening of races, haunted houses, and more. Ticket costs vary from $12 and up.

KAMLOOPS

  • Luminocity – The final two days to catch this free video art exhibit are Oct. 24 and 25 at Riverside Park in the evening.
  • Harry Pumpkin Land – Pick from thousands of pumpkins at the Desert Hills Ranch in Ashcroft all weekend long from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Prices of pumpkins vary.
  • Kamloops Fall Market – The annual fall market takes place Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sahali Mall. There will be over sixty vendors, with a Halloween theme throughout. Entry is free.
  • Spooktacular Science – Enjoy hands-on activities and a science show on Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the BIG Little Science Centre. Kids in costumes enter for free and adults are $7 each.
  • Boo at the Moo – On Oct. 26, stop by the Blackwell Dairy Farm from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. for an all ages event featuring bonfires, wagon rides, and more. Entry is free.
