iN VIDEO: Oktoberfest takes over Kamloops for a night

One stein, one cask, and a room full of lederhosen: Kamloops showed up for Oktoberfest.

The Sun Peaks Alpine Club brought its annual Bavarian bash to Columbo Lodge on Lorne Street Saturday night, and the evening ran like clockwork. Doors opened at 5 p.m., the cask was tapped at 6 p.m., and guests lined up with their own souvenir steins for a complimentary pour before sitting down to a full Bavarian dinner and dessert at 7 p.m.

From there, it turned into the kind of night the club has built a reputation for: dancing, crowd games, a photo booth, and live and silent auctions running throughout. Every dollar raised goes back into the club, keeping youth ski racing affordable, upgrading training equipment, and supporting coaching for local alpine athletes.

Dust off the dirndl and the lederhosen, Kamloops. This one keeps earning its spot on the fall calendar.
