Big White ski race saved by timely sponsor
It appeared as though Ski2Sea, an annual race at Big White Ski Resort in Kelowna might not see another year but they've found a major sponsor to help cover expenses for the next five.
Renamed RE/MAX Ski2Sea after the real-estate giant come to the rescue following a public plea by organizers, online registration is open for the 33rd annual race to be held Sunday, April 14.
From the slopes of Big White to the shores of City Park in Kelowna, teams of up to seven people and soloists race others and the stopwatch over six legs that span 95 km. The legs include: alpine skiing, nordic skiing, mountain biking, road cycling, running and canoeing or kayaking.
