TORONTO – A satire about a Sudbury, Ont., slacker who discovers he’s the second coming of Jesus Christ is joining the CraveTV lineup.
Bell Media describes “What Would Sal Do?” as “a provocative satire that explores religious themes and contemporary issues.”
Dylan Taylor of CBC-TV’s “Pure” stars as the titular Sal, while Kids in the Hall member Scott Thompson plays a conniving priest.
The Canadian production joins CraveTV’s other homegrown originals “Letterkenny” and the upcoming “Russell Peters Is the Indian Detective.”
It’s already nominated for three Canadian Screen Awards, including best actress in a comedy series, best supporting or guest in a comedy series, and best writing in a comedy series. The awards will be announced March 12.
“What Would Sal Do?” begins streaming March 24.
