U.S. government awards CGI a US$530-million contract to enhance cybersecurity

MONTREAL – The U.S. arm of CGI Group Inc. has been awarded a six-year cybersecurity contract from the U.S. government, worth a total of US$530 million.

The contract builds on work that CGI Federal Inc. has already done to enhance the cybersecurity posture of agencies participating in a multi-year program overseen by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

The latest contract was awarded by the U.S. General Services Administration.

Montreal-based CGI Group says its U.S. subsidiary, based in Fairfax, Va., will create a centralized view of security risks at a group of agencies of the U.S. government.

The contract is part of Homeland Security’s continuous diagnostics and mitigation program, which provides tools to identify cybersecurity risks on an ongoing basis and to identify which high-risk risks should be addressed first.
