The City of West Kelowna is advising residents that a development permit has been approved for work to be conducted in the coming weeks to restore a portion of Smith Creek to stop erosion of the banks at 3715 Gellatly Road.
Landmark Solutions Inc. will begin work immediately along the banks of Smith Creek between Carrington and Witt Roads.
Work is expected to continue to May 2016.
The restoration of Smith Creek is also expected to enhance the fisheries and aquatic habitat values.
Residents can expect to see heavy equipment working the in the area.
Project hours are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, including some work on the weekends.
No traffic disruptions are anticipated due to this project.
A generator on site will be enclosed to mitigate noise impacts on adjacent property owners.
Staging of equipment and materials will be on private land on the west side of Majoros Road.
