Woman in Oklahoma parade crash to undergo state mental exam

STILLWATER, Okla. – A woman charged in an Oklahoma State University homecoming parade crash that killed four people will undergo a mental exam by an expert chosen by the state. Her own expert also must provide his report to prosecutors.

A Payne County judge on Wednesday approved the requests after prosecutors asked that 26-year-old Adacia Chambers undergo a state mental exam because her defence has indicated it plans to raise the question of mental illness or insanity. Prosecutors want their own expert to examine the defence report.

Chambers has pleaded not guilty to four counts of second-degree murder and 42 counts of assault and battery for the Oct. 24, 2015, crash.

The judge did not address a defence motion to move the trial out of Payne County.
