Man dies of injuries after Canada Day shooting at home in Abbotsford, B.C.
ABBOTSFORD, B.C. – A 20-year-old man has died of his injuries after a shooting on Canada Day in Abbotsford, B.C.
Abbotsford police say paramedics responded to a report of a shooting inside a home on Sunday.
The BC Ambulance Service arrived and found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
He was transported to hospital in critical condition and has since died.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Unit has taken over the investigation and says an 18-year-old man who was arrested on Sunday has now been released, without any charges being laid at this time.
“We believe this was an isolated incident, with no known links to drugs and gang activity, involving individuals that were known to each other,” said Cpl. Frank Jang of IHIT.
