KELOWNA – Police have a suspect in custody in connection with vehicle break-ins in downtown Kelowna.
RCMP say the man was arrested early Friday morning, April 8, in possession of items recently stolen from cars and the tools used to break into vehicles.
He also had a set of brass knuckles, which is a prohibited weapon.
“RCMP have seen an increase in reported theft from motor vehicles in Kelowna,” Const. Jesse O’Donaghey says in a media release. “We hope to see a decline in these incidents with this suspect in custody.”
A 24-year-old man with no fixed address is in custody and is scheduled to appear in court April 14 to face charges of possession of break-in tools, possession of a prohibited weapon and three counts of breach of probation.
