Some of the most active companies traded Thursday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace, rail equipment. Up five cents, or 2.22 per cent, to $2.30 on 10.2 million shares.

Shaw Communications Inc. (TSX:SJR.B). Telecommunications and media. Up 23 cents, or 0.85 per cent, to $27.43 on 5.7 million shares.

Crescent Point Energy (TSX:CPG). Oil and gas. Down eight cents, or 0.31 per cent, to $25.55 on 5.2 million shares.

Bank of Montreal (TSX:BMO). Bank. Unchanged at $74.01 on 4.3 million shares.

Husky Energy Inc. (TSX:HSE). Oil and gas. Up nine cents, or 0.38 per cent, to $23.98 on 4.1 million shares.

New Gold Inc. (TSX:NGD). Miner. Up three cents, or 0.90 per cent, to $3.38 on 3.9 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Sears Canada Inc. (TSX:SCC). Department stores. Down 10 cents, or 1.32 per cent, to $7.46 on 14,508 shares. Sears is looking for a chief executive officer again, following its announcement that Ronald Boire will depart at the end of this summer — less than a year after taking on the job. He will become president and CEO of the Barnes & Noble chain of bookstores, effective Sept. 8, according to a statement from New York by the U.S. retailer.
