Kelowna RCMP arrest woman accused of starting fire at Montreal clinic

KELOWNA – Local RCMP say they have arrested the woman suspected of starting a fire at a medical clinic in Montreal earlier this month.

Const. Jesse O'Donaghey says Jayne Heideck, 42, was arrested on the 3100 block of Lakeshore Road at around 10 a.m. today, May 30.

Last week RCMP said they were aware that Heideck was being sought by Montreal Police for allegedly setting fire to a clinic that specializes in gender reassignement surgery but were not looking for her because a Canada-wide warrant had not been issued.

The Montreal Gazette says Heideck is a former client of the clinic who was unhappy with her treatment.

The Centre Metropolitain de Chirurgie was set ablaze on May 2 and O'Donaghey says a Canada-wide warrant came through their detechment sometime over the past few days.
