Three suspects charged with murder in death of young Calgary father
CALGARY – Police have laid murder charges against three people in the death of a young Calgary father whose remains were found months after his disappearance.
Ryan Lane, who was 24, was last seen in February in the city’s northwest.
Police say his remains were found during a search of a large area near Beiseker (BYE’-suh-kuhr), just northeast of Calgary, in June.
Sheena Cuthill, the mother of Lane’s young daughter, is charged with first-degree murder.
Her brother-in-law, Will Rempel, and husband Tim Rempel also face first-degree murder charges.
Police have said they believe Lane received a call the night he disappeared from someone offering to help him in a custody dispute, but his father has said his son was not in a custody battle
The three accused are to make a court appearance Thursday.
