Swiss military: Explosives missing from infantry school

BERLIN – The Swiss military has opened an investigation after discovering that “several kilograms” of explosives were missing from an infantry training school.

The defence ministry said in a statement Monday that the shortfall was discovered during a check of ammunition boxes last week at the school in the northern city of Aarau.

The ministry didn’t specify what kind of explosives are missing, the exact quantity, or whether authorities suspect theft or an accounting error.
