Death of man whose body was found near Silver Star deemed suspicious

RCMP are investigating after the discovery of a 30-year-old man's body who appears to have died in suspicious circumstances.

According to an RCMP media release, the body of Miguel Suzor was found on a forest service road used to access Proctor Lake, west of Silver Star Provincial Park, on Sunday, July 2.

The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP have handed the file over to the BC RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit which is asking anyone who was in the area of Silver Star Road and Rogers Road on July 2, and who saw anything of note, or who has video in the area, to contact them.

Police would also like to speak to anyone who has information regarding Suzor's whereabouts in the two days leading up to his body being found.

"The investigation is in its preliminary stages, and investigators do not currently know the circumstances that led to Suzor’s death. The preliminary investigation has not identified any suggestion of risk to the public," the release states.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 1-877-987-8477.
