Penticton RCMP hand out over $10,000 in fines in 10 hours to drivers using cell phones
PENTICTON – Drivers in Penticton don't seem to be getting the message when it comes to driving and cell phone use.
RCMP Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says during a 10 hour campaign last week officers handed out 28 tickets for utilizing an electronic device while driving.
"At $368 per fine, that’s over $10,000 worth of fines,” Wrigglesworth says.
“Even with steep fines, the motoring public has not received the message regarding cell phones and driving,” he says.
