KAMLOOPS – The people of Kamloops are coming together to help support a local family after a mother and father were struck by a vehicle on the Coquihalla this weekend.
A GoFundMe campaign organized by a family friend says Matt and Anna Grandia were with their two children on the way to Vancouver when they saw an accident ahead of them.
Matt and Anna got out of their vehicle and went to assist, but another car lost control and struck them.
"Both Matt and Anna were taken to hospital in New Westminster in critical condition," family friend Jenell Kornelson writes. "The kids are both okay."
Calls for comment were defered to the family's Summit Drive pastor, Dave Fields. He expects to update the media on the couple's condition tomorrow, Feb. 8.
According to posts on social media, Anna is an instructor at a dance studio in the Brock neighbourhood.
