Ryan Rupert scores twice, Binghamton downs St. John’s 4-1

ST. JOHN’S, N.L. – Ryan Rupert scored twice in the third period and Matt O’Connor made 23 saves as the Binghamton Senators downed the St. John’s IceCaps 4-1 on Wednesday in American Hockey League action.

Rupert made it 3-1 at 9:34 of the third and then added an insurance goal into an empty net for the Senators (23-32-4), who also got goals form Michael Keranen and Zack Stortini in the second period.

Andrew Yogan opened the scoring in the first period for the IceCaps (26-24-11), who got a 25-save outing from Zachary Fucale.

Both clubs went 0 for 3 on the power play.
