Nastia Liukin to call gymnastics for NBC at Rio Olympics

STAMFORD, Conn. – Olympic all-around champion Nastia Liukin will work as a gymnastics analyst for NBC during this summer’s Rio Games.

The network announced Wednesday that the 2008 all-around gold medallist will join longtime analyst Tim Daggett and play-by-play announcer Al Trautwig.

Liukin contributed to other parts of NBC’s coverage during the 2012 Summer Olympics and 2014 Winter Games and has worked as a gymnastics analyst for the network since retiring four years ago.

Coaching great Bela Karolyi will again be a prime-time correspondent for NBC in Brazil.

Daggett and Trautwig are calling gymnastics together for the third straight Olympics. Elfi Schlegel had been a gymnastics analyst for all of NBC’s Summer Games since 1992 alongside Daggett.
