Rotary book sale is a major fundraiser for Penticton’s breakfast club
PENTICTON – This year’s March weather may not be reminding us it’s spring outside, but the Rotary book sale is certainly an indoor reminder of the season.
Penticton’s morning Rotary Club President Jean Jacobsen says the annual event, taking place this week at the Penticton Curling Club, is one of the breakfast club’s major fundraisers. Penticton actually has two Rotary Clubs, a breakfast and a lunch club.
“The proceeds go towards various projects aimed at youth, including a youth exchange program,” Jacobsen says.
This year’s Danish exchange student, Aksel Palshoe, was helping out at the sale this afternoon, March 29.
The Rotary breakfast club collects thousands of books, vinyl records, CDs and DVDs.
"Come on down and buy a book," Jacobsen says.
The sale runs until Saturday, and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
