CP NewsAlert: PC Leader Brian Pallister re-elected in Manitoba election

WINNIPEG – Progressive Conservative Leader Brian Pallister has retained his Winnipeg seat in the Manitoba election.

Pallister first won Fort Whyte in a 2012 byelection after taking over as Tory leader.

The constituency has been held by the Conservatives ever since it was created in 1999.

Pallister, who is 61, first won a seat in the Manitoba legislature in a 1992 byelection.

He served until 1997, including as a cabinet minister, but then stepped down to run federally.
