Thief leaves West Kelowna woman without a wheelchair
KELOWNA – After being released from the hospital last week a West Kelowna woman came home to an unfortunate surprise: her $2,800 wheelchair was missing from her carport, leaving her without mobility.
RCMP received the report last Friday, Sept. 6 but say the Stellar Manual Tilt Wheelchair could have been stolen sometime earlier that week. It was missing from the unsecured carport of the 62-year-old woman's residence at the trailer park on the 1600 block of Ross Road in West Kelowna.
The woman expected to be using the wheelchair during her recovery and now cannot afford to replace it.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact the West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880 or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net or by texting your tip to CRIMES (274637) ktown.
