Thieves steal thousands of dollars of equipment from first responders near Chase

CHASE – Police in Chase are investigating after a thief allegedly broke into first responders equipment boxes and stole thousands of dollars worth of vital gear.

In a news release, Cpl. Scott Linklater says Chase RCMP received a report that someone had broken into two first responders boxes in Lee Creek and Scotch Creek.

The boxes store spare equipment used by first responders.

Spare oxygen, regulators and defibrilator pads were stolen, Linklater says, totalling about $10,000 in losses.

He did not say if police have any suspects in the case.
