Kamloops police officer involved in a collision on the North Shore

KAMLOOPS – A police car was involved in a crash with another vehicle on Sherbrook Street and 10th Avenue in Kamloops, which resulted in injuries.

Around 8:54 p.m. yesterday, Aug. 18, emergency crews were called to a car accident where an RCMP vehicle was reported to have hit an Acura in an intersection on the North Shore, according to an RCMP release issued this morning, Aug. 19.

There were two occupants in the 1999 Acura EL and both were sent to hospital. The female passenger was reported to have suffered non-life threatening injuries and the driver was sent to Royal Inland Hospital as a precaution.

"The police officer involved was reported to be uninjured," Staff Sgt. Michel Grondin says in the release. "Kamloops RCMP are investigating the cause of the accident with assistance from a southeast district collision analyst."

Kamloops RCMP did not release the name of the officer involved.
