Paramedics need ATV to get to injured biker out of Myra Canyon

KELOWNA – Rescuers used an ATV to get to an injured cyclist near Kelowna today.

The Kelowna Fire Department and B.C. Ambulance Service were called out to the fifth trestle in Myra Canyon around noon today, Sept. 6, after reports a cyclist had fallen off their bike and needed medical attention.

Fire and ambulance crews piled into the fire department's all terrain vehicle, known as a Gator, to make their way to the patient.

The injured person was assessed and treated, then brought out of the bush in the Gator and transported to hospital by paramedics.

No word at this point at to the extent of the cyclist's injuries.
