OTTAWA – Independent Sen. Patrick Brazeau’s office is appealing for privacy after an unexplained medical incident early Tuesday morning.
Spokeswoman Debby Simms says Brazeau was not arrested as some early media reports suggested, but was suffering from a private medical situation that has been resolved.
She noted that most people believe medical information should be kept private.
Police in Gatineau, Que., say they responded to a call for help in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.
They would not confirm that the 38-year-old senator was involved, but referred to an address associated with him.
Brazeau was kicked out of the Conservative caucus earlier this year after policed charged him with assault and sexual assault.
