Early morning home invaders assault Kamloops couple with hammer and pepper spray

KAMLOOPS – Home invaders broke into a Kamloops home early this morning and assaulted a man and woman with a hammer and pepper spray.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says the assault happened on Oak Road at 3 a.m. this morning, Feb. 21.

She says two men, dressed in black with their faces covered, kicked in the front door, and assaulted the man with a hammer. One of the suspects also pepper sprayed the room.

“The suspects then fled from the residence without saying anything, making any threats or stealing anything from the residence,” Shelkie says.

The release does not say if either of the victims were injured.

Kamloops RCMP are asking anyone with information on this assault to contact them at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
