A minor incident this morning at Kelowna International Airport has caused the delays of a WestJet flight.
The nose wheel of a passenger jet slid off the pavement as it was taxiing toward the runway during takeoff. Nobody was injured as a result of the accident and passengers of the WestJet flight 150 to Edmonton were assisted off the plane by YLW's aircraft rescue firefighters.
Runways have been closed for short, intermittent periods this morning because of heavy snowfall and limited visibility. There have also been a few delayed and cancelled flights. Flight status can be checked the the YLW website.
Passengers from flight 150 will be rebooked on later flights as the aircraft undergoes mechanical review.
