Calgary-based Talisman Energy reports Q4 loss of US$1 billion, 98 cents a share

CALGARY – Calgary-based Talisman Energy (TSX:TLM) reports a loss of US$1 billion in the fourth quarter of 2013.

That works out to 98 cents per share.

Talisman says it recorded an impairment charge of $826 million, after tax, in the quarter.

The loss compares with a profit of $376 million, or 37 cents a share, a year earlier.

Talisman reported a loss from operations of $116 million, or 11 cents a share, up from $107 million, or 10 cents a share, in the fourth quarter of 2013.
