Canada’s Dorey, Riddle and Bowman qualify for ski halfpipe final at Sochi Games

KRASNAYA POLYANA, Russia – Three Canadians have qualified for the men’s ski halfpipe final at the Sochi Olympics.

Justin Dorey of Vernon, B.C., had the top score of 91.60 points after two qualification runs in snowy conditions at Rosa Khutor Extreme Park.

Mike Riddle of Sherwood Park, Alta., and Noah Bowman of Calgary will join their teammate in the 12-man final round later today.

Riddle finished sixth and Bowman was seventh.

Matt Margetts of Penticton, B.C., fell in his second qualifying run and missed the cut with a 15th-place finish.

Ski halfpipe is making its Olympic debut in Sochi.
