DELTA, B.C. – Delta police are resuming their search for a missing boater on the Fraser River.
Officers and the coast guard responded to calls of a man in the water close to the Alex Fraser Bridge on Saturday evening.
Police arrived and found a boat near the bridge with a man on board.
Officers say the man told police his friend had fallen overboard while trying free the boat from river mooring pilings.
The search was resumed this morning with a coast guard hovercraft and helicopter.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor, but the missing man was not wearing a life jacket and was unable to swim.
