Police seek man in attempted abduction at Abbotsford, B.C., bus stop
ABBOTSFORD, B.C. – Police say they are looking for a man who tried to abduct a teenage girl from a bus stop in Abbotsford.
They say a man drove past the 16-year-old several times when she was waiting at a bus stop Saturday evening, and eventually approached her on foot.
The man allegedly tried to entice the girl to come with him, offering her liquor and a ride to work, but the girl refused.
Police say the man then grabbed the teen by the arm and tried to pull her in the direction of his van, but the girl resisted and a passerby intervened, causing the suspect to flee.
The male passerby then sat with the teenager until her bus arrived.
Police say they are now looking for who they describe as a Caucasian male in his 20s who has medium-length brown hair, a moustache and a teardrop tattoo under his eye.
