QUESNEL, B.C. – A wildfire near Quesnel has spread, forcing occupants of a lodge to leave.
The Cariboo Regional District Emergency Operations Centre posted an evacuation order on its Facebook page for the Euchinko (YOU-chin-EE-KOH) Lake Ranch Lodge.
Forty-one firefighters and six helicopters are trying to put out a 12-square-kilometre fire in Euchiniko Lakes, in the North Cariboo region, which was sparked by lightning Tuesday.
The fire has not been contained.
A provincewide heat wave has heightened officials’ concerns about wildfires.
