Angelo Isidorou is out as executive director of BC Conservatives as shakeup continues

VICTORIA — Angelo Isidorou is out as executive director of the BC Conservatives, as a shakeup in the provincial opposition ranks continues.

Isidorou says in a statement issued by the party that his role in taking the Conservatives to the brink of power in the 2024 election, just four years after it won less than 2 per cent of the vote, was the “honour of a lifetime.”

He says he’s leaving on “amicable and mutual terms,” while party leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay says in the same statement that she wishes him success and thanks him for the “continuity” he provided during the transition since she was elected.

Findlay has conducted a transformation of the party’s top levels since winning the leadership in May by a razor-thin margin of 51 per cent to Caroline Elliott’s 49 per cent after four rounds of voting.

Conservative figures have been heaping praise on Isidorou on social media since news of his departure broke late Wednesday.

Elliott says his departure is a “huge loss,” former interim leader Trevor Halford says his “talents are unmatched,” while federal Conservative MP Aron Gunn says that without Isidorou, “the Conservative Party of BC would not exist.”
