Kamloops RCMP seeking witnesses in cardiac arrest investigation

Kamloops RCMP are investigating the death of a 50-year-old man who died early this morning at the Provincial Weigh Scales heading out of Kamloops on Highway 1.

A truck driver called the ambulance after the man reportedly had a seizure at about 6 a.m. this morning.

The man was in full cardiac arrest when paramedics arrived on the scene and CPR was conducted in an attempt to resuscitate him.

He was transported to Royal Inland Hospital and was declared dead later this morning.

Fowl play has been ruled out of his death,  but the B.C. Coroner's Service as well as RCMP continue to investigate his death.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen the man at the scales before 6 a.m. to contact the local detachment at 250-828-3000.
