Looking for a forever home; Kamloops SPCA pet of the week

Ellie is a friendly, though somewhat timid dog. She has good obedience — she knows how to "sit" and walks nicely on leash and even though she's older she still has plenty of energy for the good things in life. She also knows how to kick back, relax and nap it out too.

Since being at the Kamloops branch of the B.C. SPCA, Ellie has been diagnosed with a mast cell tumor and is currently receiving treatments. Her prognosis looks good but she will require regular vet visits to ensure good health.

This sweet senior can be initially timid of new people and new situations so needs to be introduced to these slowly. She needs a more quiet environment and gentle handling. Once she gets to know you, she bonds quickly so may get anxious when left alone. She will need to get used to spending time alone slowly a few minutes at a time.

Ellie is not good with livestock, particularly chickens.

She is looking for a patient and experienced guardian who has lots of time to spend with her. She has lots of affection and love to give a lucky guardian. A behaviour counselling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal to ensure success.

If you interested please contact the staff at the Kamloops branch of the B.C. SPCA. Ellie's animal ID is 353780.
