RCMP identify human remains found near Kamloops; foul play suspected

Human remains were found at a rural property near Kamloops a few months ago, now police have identified the deceased and suspect foul play.

The man’s remains have been identified as those of Jordan Dean Nande, 27, who went missing in March 2023, according to an RCMP media release issued today, June 12.

Kamloops RCMP were made aware of human remains found on a rural property in the Pendleton Creek area near Greenstone Road on April 11.

Police have now identified the skeletal remains as those of Nande and believe foul play led to his death.

Nande had a court ordered curfew in Fort St. John at the time he went missing and had been last seen by a probation officer in March 2023.

There was a warrant for his arrest at the time that he went missing and police said that made the search for him more complicated since he would have avoided police. 

Nande told his family he was heading to Kamloops three weeks before they reported him missing.

Police say he left Fort Nelson with some “local associates” and they travelled together to Kamloops.

“The Southeast District Major Crime Unit continues to investigate Nande’s death, and is requesting anyone with information about his disappearance and suspected homicide to contact the RCMP Southeast District MCU Information Line at 1-877-987-8477,” Staff Sgt. Jason Smart said in the release.
