Ready for more holiday cheer? Here are some incredible festive events this weekend in Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton and Kamloops.
KELOWNA
- Kelowna Christmas Expo – The Okanagan’s largest indoor Christmas market is taking place all weekend long at the Kelowna Event Centre. On Dec. 12, the event runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. On Dec. 13 and 14, it runs from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Entry is free.
- Christmas at the Farm – Bring family and friends to the Luckhurst Farm & Distillery for a day of delicious food and holiday cheer on Dec. 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Entry is free.
- A Reel Christmas Market – Rustic Reel Brewing Co. is bringing back their annual German Christmas market on Dec. 13 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Dec. 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entry is $5 per person or a non-perishable food donation for the Central Okanagan Food Bank.
- Santa Paws Downtown Parade – Kelowna’s most festive dog event of the year returns on Dec. 14 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the So Fetch Canine Social Club. The event is free but donations are appreciated when you RSVP.
- Christmas Movie Screening Series – Head to Dunnenzies Pizza and Parlour’s Mission location to watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas with your community on Dec. 14, starting at 6 p.m. Entry is pay what you can.
VERNON
- The NONA Lights for Kids – Enjoy the holiday lights all weekend long across Vernon, Coldstream, and Armstrong from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Donations to the NONA Child Development Centre are appreciated, but viewing the lights is free.
- Die Hard 19+ Stocking Event! – Looking for an adults only event to celebrate the holidays? Head to The Towne Theatre on Dec. 12 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $21 each.
- Handmade Gift Workshops – Two workshops will be taking place on Dec. 13 at the Caetani Centre so guests can gift their loved ones with something handmade this season. The first workshop is water colouring from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the second workshop is booklet making from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Ticket prices vary by workshop.
- Festive Saturdays – Grab a treat and enjoy a stroll through the Vernon Public Art Gallery on Dec. 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entry is by donation.
- Nutcracker Tea – Enjoy a traditional tea service at Mackie Lake House on Dec. 14 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $60 each.
PENTICTON
- Gingerbread Cookie Decorating – Bring the whole family and decorate some festive cookies at See Ya Later Ranch on Dec. 12, starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $40 each, with two kids free per adult.
- The Nutcracker – Enjoy this classic, holiday performance at the Cleland Community Theatre on Dec. 11 and 12, starting at 7 p.m. Adults tickets are $47 each.
- Winter Market – Grab the last gifts on your list at the Nickel Plate Nordic Centre on Dec. 13, all day long. Entry is free.
- Last Chance Gift & Artisans Expo – Don’t miss over eighty local vendors at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre on Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Entry is $3 a day or $5 for the whole weekend.
- Holiday Open House – Enjoy a festive afternoon with some dazzling wine at Phantom Creek Estates on Dec. 13 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are free but limited.
KAMLOOPS
- Krampus Wrap Party – Head to the Effie Arts Collective on Dec. 12, starting at 8 p.m., for a festive burlesque show, holiday games, and merriment. Tickets are $25 each.
- Wildlights – Stop by the BC Wildlife Park all weekend long, starting at 4 p.m. each afternoon, for a sea of festive lights. Adult tickets are $21 each.
- Holiday Kick-Off – Visit the Sun Peaks Resort all day long on Dec. 12 and 13 for a village of lights, cheer, drinks, and local vendors. Ticket prices vary.
- Holiday Artisan Market – Monte Creek Winery is hosting their annual holiday market on Dec. 13 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Dec. 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Entry is free.
- My Secret Santa: Netflix Movie Screening – Check out this new Christmas movie at Sun Peaks Grand Hotel and Conference Centre on Dec. 14. Pictures with Santa go from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and the movie runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Entry is free, but reservations are required.
